We, Alex Ziwak and Nellie Alberghini, are the owners of Ziwak's Tae Kwon Do Center,  located at 3350 Whitney Avenue, in Hamden, Connecticut. We each have been training in the martial arts for about 30 years. We each have attained the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt.

Since we founded Ziwak's Tae Kwon Do Center, we have been committed to providing students with the highest quality martial arts training and disciplinary education in an atmosphere that preserves human values and individual identities. We strive to provide martial arts training as well as an appreciation for the traditional forms and ideologies while keeping pace with modern martial arts.

Over the 30 years of training, we have competed in many tournaments throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We have also assisted in teaching seminars in England and Ireland. In addition, we have been voted school of the month by Black Belt magazine and have been featured in numerous martial arts publications throughout the U.S. and the world.

And day after day, we leverage this knowledge and experience to bring to our students a level of training that is second to none. Many of our students are ranked in first place in the world in their respective divisions. Although we support those students who wish to compete, the essence of Ziwak's is achieving self-perfection of body, mind, and character. While Ziwak's focuses on the advanced scientific method of training, we still emphasis the traditional values of the art. We try to instill in our students the virtues that are core to our training - modesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit.
